GNET GPS Station Qeqertarsuaq
Greenland GPS Network (GNET)
56 GPS stations are located along the Greenland ice sheet. Together the stations constitute the Greenland GPS Network (GNET) and are operated by DTU Space.
The stations measure elevation changes in Greenland's crust that can be seen as an expression of the ice sheet's mass becomes larger or smaller.
The measurements from GNET stations makes it possible to follow the variations in the earth's crust over a period of several years and thus it is possible to determine whether there is a net ice cap loss.
