Sandø 1.01 Marine Monitoring Station
Sandø 1.01 Marine Monitoring Station is a standard hydrographic station in Young Sund, North-East Greenland. The station is part of the MarinBasis monitoring program. The purpose of the marine monitoring program is to register specific physical properties of the sea water column, such as temperature and salinity, at the same geographical location once every year, and compare these repeated registrations with previous years' recordings. Hydrographic measurements are typical carried out with a so-called "CTD" instrument (Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth). The hydrographic station is monitored one time each year in July/August.
