University of Greenland - Ilisimatusarfik
Ilisimatusarfik is situated in the small but bustling capital city of Greenland, Nuuk. With a university population of about 600 students spread across three institutes in the city, it specialises today in in the following academic disciplines: Social Science; Cultural and Social History; Language Literature and Media; Journalism; Theology; Social Work, Translation and Interpretation; Nursing and Health Sciences; and Teaching. Ilisimatusarfik officially became a university in 1989. Before that time it was called the Ilisima-tusarfik / Inuit Institute.
