This project will re-survey ice-sheet elevation and velocity measurements in the catchment of Jakobshavn Isbræ made by the EGIG expeditions during the pre-satellite era (1959-1996). The subtle multi-decadal trends in ice-sheet elevation and velocity that are observed will be reproduced in thermo-mechanical ice flow simulations that span the 1900-2100 period. Understanding Jakobshavn Isbræ's past century of response to the end of the Little Ice Age will help understand its next century of response to anthropogenic climate change.
